Le Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons

Le Manoir, Raymond Blanc’s two Michelin star Restaurant and Hotel, approached Grand Design Blinds to supply a shading solution for a newly built function room with a very large and relatively low, flat structural glass roof with glass rafters. This presented several problems – the lack of fixings in the centre of the roof, the requirement for a blinds solution to be completely hidden and the lack of provisions in the original build for electric blinds. Grand Design Blinds came up with a solution to fit large tensioned roller blinds recessed behind the plasterboard fascia, with a small slot below the glass for the blind to emerge from, just leaving the drive cables and tension cables visible. The blinds had to be fixed to the steel frame of the building due to the amount of tension in the system and all building work in connection with the blinds was carried out by us. The final job successfully achieved the criteria set by the hotel and work was carried out with minimal interruption to the use of the room for events.

We have released a new video documenting the blinds at a project we completed a number of years ago for Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons hotel in Oxfordshire. The large all-glass structure posed some issues for shading, but we were able to resolve them with discreet and effective concealed automated roller blinds.
