Penthouse, The Imperial Notting Hill, London
This stunning penthouse apartment in an exclusive development of two period townhouses in Notting Hill features a frameless glass box on one side, forming an occasional bedroom with an adjoining ensuite bathroom - all hidden behind a large span of sliding doors.
The architect was keen to find a solution to transform the room from a light-filled open plan living space to a private and darkened bedroom, whilst maintaining the clean lines of the glass box. Grand Design Blinds worked with the glass manufacturer to design a slim framework around the perimeter of the glass roof, to which discreet electric Duette pleated blinds could be fixed. The finished product met with all the requirements of the client and also enabled the building to receive its required BREEAM rating.
