Film & TV Production Office, Soho, London

The top floor meeting rooms at the London headquarters of The Mill, an internationally renowned media production company, had large sloping and tapering windows - with rooflights above, joined with a silicon joint at the corner. The offices were used for client presentations, so darkness and privacy was required - the blinds also needed to be motorised due to their height, yet there was no possibility of providing cabling. This presented several problems, including the lack of fixing point at the glass junction.

Grand Design Blinds came up with a proposal for rechargeable battery-powered blackout Duette pleated blinds, with a powder-coated aluminium profile mounted across the glass junction to provide an attachment. The Mill were relieved to find a solution and the blinds were fitted on a weekend to minimise disruption to the employees.
